The Data Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization’s data assets. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data security policies, procedures, and controls, as well as monitoring and responding to data security incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular assessments of data security risks and vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies to address identified threats.
  • Implement and manage data encryption, access controls, and data loss prevention (DLP) solutions to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or disclosure.
  • Monitor data access logs and audit trails to detect and investigate suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement secure data storage, transmission, and processing solutions, leveraging encryption, tokenization, and other cryptographic techniques.
  • Provide guidance and support to data engineering and analytics teams on secure data handling practices and data privacy requirements.
  • Stay informed about emerging data security threats and trends, and recommend proactive measures to enhance our data security posture.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including investigating security incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and implementing remediation measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop a culture and process for the re-use of solutions templates across projects thereby simplifying the solutions engineering process and improving the productivity of the resources.
  • Effectively communicate the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to internal business and project stakeholders.
  • Install & Qualify components into production following company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and comply with defined standards regulated in IT environments.
  • Participate in IT Risk Management initiatives in line with industry and corporate Audit and Compliance strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Proven experience in data security roles, with a focus on protecting sensitive data in enterprise environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of data security principles, protocols, and technologies, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, and experience implementing compliance controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex data security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred skills:
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience securing data in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and practices, including data classification, data lifecycle management, and metadata management.
