SAP PP Consultant

We are seeking an experienced and proficient SAP PP Consultant who should possess a deep understanding of the SAP Production Planning (PP) module, with a focus on configuring and optimizing production processes to enhance our manufacturing operations. The consultant will play a crucial role in managing master data, materials, BOM, work centers, routings, and production versions. The candidate should excel in configuring and implementing various production scenarios, forecasting, and demand management, and integrating PP processes with other modules. Excellent communication skills, functional specification development, and a comprehensive knowledge of SAP tables and fields for production planning enhancements are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain master data including materials, MRP views, work scheduling views, BOMs, work centers, and routings.
• Configure production versions, control cycles, and production supply areas to ensure optimized production scheduling and resource allocation.
• Expertise in configuring end-to-end PP flow, including planning strategies, MRP types, lot size keys, MRP controllers, and production scheduling profiles.
• Develop and configure availability check control to ensure material availability for production.
• Configure various production order types and parameters, including availability check, scheduling, and confirmation parameters.
• Understand and implement different types of MRP planning, including plant-level MRP parameters.
• Configure and understand production scenarios like Make-to-stock, Make-to-order, and Kanban.
• Configure output settings for production orders to facilitate efficient communication and documentation.
• Expertise in PP integration with MM, FI, and QM modules to ensure seamless data exchange and reporting accuracy.
• Possess a deep understanding of production costing processes and integration within the PP module.
• Develop functional specifications for production planning enhancements and understand SAP tables and fields relevant to PP.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prototype solutions, gather feedback, and refine configurations.
• Create comprehensive test scripts and prepare test data to ensure the quality and accuracy of iimplemented solutions.
• Train end-users on new functionalities and processes within the PP module.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as an SAP PP Consultant.
• In-depth understanding of the SAP PP module, including configuration, optimization, and integration aspects.
• Strong grasp of master data management, MRP views, BOMs, work centers, and routings.
• Proficiency in configuring production versions, planning strategies, MRP types, and lot size keys.
• Expertise in availability check control, production order types, and scheduling parameters.
• Comprehensive knowledge of different production scenarios and associated configurations.
• Experience in configuring and understanding PP integration with MM, FI, and QM modules.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to develop functional specifications and understanding of SAP tables and field for enhancements.
• Prototyping skills to visualize solutions and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Strong capability in creating test scripts and preparing test data for quality assurance.
