As a BI System Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and availability of BI platforms, databases, and related infrastructure. Your expertise in BI technologies and strong problem-solving skills will enable you to support data-driven decision-making processes throughout the organization.
- Design, deploy, and maintain the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) systems, including data warehouses, ETL processes, reporting tools, and analytical platforms.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of BI systems to ensure data accuracy, availability, and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business users, to understand their requirements and implement appropriate BI solutions.
- Administer user access, security, and permissions within the BI systems, ensuring data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to BI system functionality, performance, and data integrity.
- Plan and execute backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical BI data.
- Conduct regular system health checks, implement system upgrades and patches, and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in BI technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve system performance and user experience.
- Provide technical guidance and training to users, promoting self-service capabilities and best practices in data visualization and reporting.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate, select, and integrate new BI tools and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in BI and database administration are a plus.
- Proven work experience as a BI System Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of BI concepts, architectures, and technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, and experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and experience in database administration tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex BI system issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of data governance and security principles, ensuring data privacy and compliance.
